How to use this calculator

Enter guest count, style tier, region, day, and venue type. Edit presets (keep your overrides if you want), toggle VAT/service charge and add-on events, then review total, cost per guest, scenario compare, and savings timeline.

Definition

A wedding budget calculator estimates Kenya reception and optional traditional ceremony costs from guest-driven and fixed line items plus contingency, taxes, and funding.

Example

For 100 mid-range Nairobi guests on a Saturday DIY venue, the tool seeds venue, catering, media, and attire, adds contingency (and optional VAT), then shows cost per guest and monthly savings if the wedding is in 12 months.

Budgeting a wedding in Kenya

Start with guest count and the style you can actually fund — not the Pinterest board. Venue and catering usually dominate, especially once you multiply plate cost by every invitee who shows up.

Many Kenyan couples also need a traditional ceremony envelope (bride price or gifts, shopping list, hosting, transport). Keep that separate from the reception so neither side of the weekend blindsides the other.

Leave 10–15% contingency for VAT, service charge, and extras. Use this calculator to set a ceiling, then replace presets with real vendor quotes before you pay deposits.
